Denise Specht - Education Minnesota, May 15th, 2014
It's been a while! Our last series presented a wide diversity of views from various advocacy organizations about what is needed to close the achievement gap. We wanted our next forum to cover similar ground, but from the point of view of the teachers who are challenged each day by that question.
We are delighted that the head of Education Minnesota is our next speaker.
Ms. Specht was elected president of Education Minnesota last spring and will complete her first year this July. She is a fourth generation teacher who taught in elementary school before becoming ever more involved in the leadership of teachers’ professional organizations at the local, state, and national levels. She is also a board member of the Minnesota Women’s Consortium and of the Nellie Stone Johnson Scholarship Program.
